Out of School Time Activities Junior Day and STEAM Fair Set for Jan. 29
Looking for something for your student to do when school is out? MCPS is offering two Out-of-School Time events on Monday Jan. 29.
Students grades 8-12 are invited to spend Monday Jan. 29 at a free STEAM fair presented by STEAM Magic. Students will enjoy presentations from a vareity of organizations related to science, technology, engineering, art and math, and learn about internships, out of school opportuities and more. Transportation, snacks and prizes will be provided.
Be sure to register by the January 16 deadline.
Junior Day: Prepare for the College Journey Ahead
MCPS, in partnership with the NAACP Parents’ Council and Johns Hopkins University, will host a Junior Day for rising minority seniors to learn about colleges, as part of the MCPS Out-of-School Time program. Students will learn from experts about scholarships and financial aid, researching colleges, interviews and campus visits, the college admissions process for student athletes, and more.
This event will take place from 9:30 a.m.–1:15 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, at Wheaton High School. Buses, breakfast and lunch will be provided.
