Walter Johnson High School welcomed about 140 senior citizens for a Thanksgiving feast on Nov. 21. This was the 46th year that the school has hosted the Senior Citizens Luncheon, which came complete with a traditional roast turkey meal. The event also featured music, dancing and student performances. The guests hailed from seven senior citizens’ centers, community centers in Montgomery County and individual sign ups.

The event was coordinated and hosted by a student volunteer club. With help from the Division of Food and Nutrition Services, cafeteria staff prepared the meal and about 200 student volunteers served the food, mingled with their guests and later, twirled them around the cafeteria dance floor. The school’s jazz ensemble played throughout the luncheon. The advanced choir, Madrigals and show choir also performed.
