Kindergarten Registration

Online registration for kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year opens on Monday, Feb. 3. Children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2025, are eligible to register. Registration will be online through the ParentVUE portal. If your family is new to MCPS, you will need to create a ParentVue account here. For more information about eligibility and the registration process, visit the MCPS Kindergarten Enrollment webpage or the Ashburton office. Parents can come to the main office if they need support with registration.

We will hold informational sessions for parents this spring, on February 21^st or April 4^th from 9:15-10:30. We have paper forms and are happy to help support the registration process at the school. You will need to collect the proof documents to upload or present to the school: proof of birth (birth certificate or passport), proof of residence (lease, property tax bill), and a state-issued parent ID card. Health records– proof of immunization, a health inventory- record of physical exam, lead form, and dental records will need to be submitted to the school before the start of school but are not essential for the initial registration.

Children who turn 5 between September 2nd and October 15th are eligible to apply for early entrance to kindergarten. You may not enroll online and will need to contact the office, either Yang-Yang Lin at Yang-Yang_lin@mcpsmd.org or Marney Jacobs at marjorie_E_Jacobs@mcpsmd.org for more information.
