The MCPS attendance policy regarding partial absences specifies that if children arrive at school more than two hours after the start of the day, they are marked 'A.M. absent'. Should a student leave more than two hours before the end of the day, it is 'P.M. absent." Any absence longer than four hours is entered as absent all day. Finally, if a child is gone for more than two hours during the course of the day, that is also considered a partial absence. Please keep this in mind as you plan appointments during the school day, and please notify the office of reason for the absence. Remember that any child arriving late must be signed in at the office by an adult.
