Mr. Healy has been teaching at Beall ES for many years. He is originally from Pennsylvania, and he is a big Pittsburg sports fan of the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates! Mr. Healy attended a college in PA called Slippery Rock University. Mr. Healy has a Bachelor's Degree in Health & Physical Education from SRU, and he has his Masters Degree in Sports Coaching from the United States Sports Academy. Mr. Healy loves being active and sharing his passion for a healthy lifestyle with his students. He has run five marathons and plans to do more in the future. Mr. Healy would like to see all of his students value their health and try to be as active as possible to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Mr. McCarty is in his eleventh year of teaching Physical Education in MCPS and his second year of teaching at Beall. He grew up in the area going to school and playing sports in MCPS. He earned his Health and Physical Education teaching degree from the University of Maryland. Mr. McCarty enjoys playing all sports but especially basketball, soccer, and volleyball. Mr. McCarty wants all his students to learn the importance of teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship in PE. He encourages every student to live a healthy lifestyle, and to enjoy all the physical/social/emotional benefits that comes with daily physical activity.
