BMES Behavior Matrix and Student Code of Conduct
The purpose of the BMES Behavior Matrix is to set expectations for positive behavior and promote fairness and equity in discipline through clear, appropriate, and consistent application of behavior intervention consequences. The BMES Behavior Matrix reflects a philosophy of behavior intervention with protocols for appropriate responses when actions are required to address student misconduct, and remedy and restore an orderly and safe learning environment, focused on teaching and learning. As a school, our goal is to work with Level 1 behaviors; however, there are times when the behaviors escalate to Level 2 and beyond. We think it is essential to align our behavior expectations with MCPS which is why our matrix is aligned with MCPS Student Code of Conduct.
