School & Community News…

Celebrate Autism Awareness Week with Burtonsville Elementary!🧩  This week, we are proud to celebrate Autism Awareness Week at our school. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental condition characterized by differences in social interaction, communication, and learning. Each individual with autism brings a unique set of strengths and challenges.  Autism Awareness Week is a special opportunity for our community to recognize and celebrate the diversity that students with autism bring to our classrooms. Through awareness, we foster inclusion and empathy, creating an environment where all children feel valued and understood.  Join us in a week filled with activities designed to educate and enlighten both students and parents. It’s a time to learn, support, and appreciate the wonderful ways in which our differences make us stronger. (Spirit Week Flyer)  Let's embrace this week with open hearts and minds, building a supportive and inclusive community for everyone!
