AEHS 12th Grade - Student Message
August 20th, 2024 - Online Message Link

Greetings, Students and Parents/Guardians for the Titan Class of 2025:

Welcome back to another year! I am Aliciamarie Johnson and I am an assistant principal at Albert Einstein High School and the administrator for the senior class of 2025. I started my journey as an assistant principal two years ago at Einstein when our seniors were starting their second year in high school. Since then, it has been a true privilege to watch them overcome obstacles, take new risks, reach new heights, and evolve as humans and learners. I am so proud of them for making it to this final stage in their K-12 experience; however, as we all know, there is a lot of work to be done before we cross the finish line. To that end, I am writing for two main reasons: 1) to reintroduce myself to everyone and assure you that I will be working collaboratively with the administrative team, counselors, and teachers to monitor and support every senior between now and graduation day; and 2) to provide everyone with some important upcoming information that students and parents need to know to ensure a smooth and successful school year. I will outline this information below and provide regular updates throughout the school year, so please pay close attention to any Remind messages or emails that you receive from me or the school.

Senior Portraits

Legacy is scheduling Senior Portraits here at Albert Einstein High School on the following dates:

  • September 5, 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

  • October 16, 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

  • October 21, 3:00 p.m .- 8:00 p.m.

  • November 1, 3:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.

Students will receive communications directly from the vendor (Legacy) about how to sign-up for portrait dates. Please contact christine.rocca@legacystudios.com if you have any further questions about senior portraits. Yearbook information is forthcoming.

Senior Dues

To cover senior activities for the year (prom, graduation, senior traditions, etc.), each member of the senior class will pay senior dues of $65. However, we are offering an opportunity to reduce dues for students who pay their dues earlier in the school year, but fees will not exceed $65. Dues are tiered as follows:

  • August 26 - October 31 - $55.00

  • November 1 - December 31 - $60.00

  • January 1 - End of Year - $65.00

Dues can be paid using School Cash Online. Parents and guardians can register for School Cash Online (using the same email address that they use for Synergy) by using this link https://mcpsmd.schoolcashonline.com/. Please note that there will be a 4% processing fee for this service. Please note that the senior dues do not include the fee for the cap and gown (see cap and gown information below).

Senior Sunrise and Senior Wall-Painting

One of our longstanding senior traditions is to officially welcome the senior year by watching the sunrise together on our campus. This special event will take place in the football stadium at Albert Einstein on Friday, August 30th, with everyone arriving by 6:15 a.m. to enjoy a light breakfast with their Class of 2025 peers. It is highly recommended that students dress warmly in the event of cold weather.

During lunch on this same day, seniors will take part in another Titan tradition; the painting of the Senior Wall! Every senior will literally leave their mark by painting their name on the Senior Wall. Students will report to the wall at 11:10 a.m., the start of lunch, so that they can sign their name before the end of lunch. All paint and materials will be provided.

Senior Unity Day

This year, seniors will have a new and exciting opportunity to bond with one another outside of school. On Wednesday, September 4th, seniors will take a trip to Smokey Glen Farm in Gaithersburg, Maryland for a class picnic complete with food, games, and music. Games include miniature golf, tetherball, volleyball, softball, horseshoes, and basketball. Students will depart from Einstein at 10:15 a.m. and return by 2:15 p.m.

Lunch will be provided but students are encouraged to bring any lunch that they want to eat. The costs for this event has been included in the senior dues, and all seniors can attend on September 4th even if they have not yet paid their seniors dues. Seniors will receive field trip permission slips on the first day of school in their homeroom class and they should return them to their homeroom teacher or the main office by Wednesday, August 28th.

Graduation / Cap & Gown

Information regarding graduation (date, time, tickets, etc.) will be decided and disseminated later in the school year (usually after the winter break). Please be sure to read all Remind messages and emails thoroughly.

Students will purchase their caps and gowns directly from Josten’s using this link. The fee for the cap, gown, stole, and tassel will be $45.60. Students can also order other graduation memorabilia (e.g. class rings, apparel, announcements etc.) using the aforementioned link.
