Virtual Learning Day Schedule and Information

It is important that students experience as few learning disruptions as possible. For that reason, MCPS will consider a transition to virtual learning when schools are closed due to inclement weather.Our six operational status options are detailed in our Emergency Information and listed below.  

As a reminder, the decision for a virtual learning day will be decided and shared by noon the day before the given time. This will allow families, staff, and students to prepare.

During Virtual Learning (purple status) students will log into their device using their MCPS Chrome account. Students are familiar with logging into their computers in this manner.  They will access their instruction by going to the following platforms:

Kindergarten:  Clever

1st grade:  Canvas --except Ms. Sadugor’s class which is through Clever

2nd grade:  Canvas; Instructions for Logging In

3rd grade:  Canvas

4th grade:  Canvas 

5th grade:  Canvas

Virtual Learning Schedule for Grades Kindergarten through Grade 5

Kindergarten through Grade 5 will follow the Virtual Learning Schedule below. If school is closed for multiple days the classroom teachers will share the Specials (Art, Music,Media,  and PE) schedule with their families. 

• In order to allow time for students and staff to adjust, log in and access resources on an inclement weather virtual learning day, all instruction will begin two hours later than the school's normal bell schedule.
