Student Recognition Awards

 

At the end of each marking period, students are acknowledged for their learning effort, improvement, and achievement, as well as for demonstrating outstanding character traits throughout the quarter.  The following awards are given:

 

Citizenship Award

Criteria: This award recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional consideration toward their teachers, peers and school environment. These students model traits such as respect, kindness, responsibility and generosity throughout the school day. Teachers will nominate up to 3 students per class to receive this award each quarter.

 

Most Improved Award

 

Criteria: This award recognizes students who have demonstrated growth from one quarter to the next in the areas of learning skills, academics and/or citizenship. These students do not have to have all Ps and ESs, but must have shown growth. Teachers will nominate up to 3 students per class to receive this award each quarter. 

 

Academic Excellence 

Criteria: This award recognizes all students who have worked hard and received scores of Ps and PSs in the overall proficiency of academic areas on their report cards each quarter. 

 

Excellence in Art, Music and PE

 

Criteria: This award recognizes students who received scores of Ps and ESs in the academic areas and

        Art: they do their best and show great effort in art

        Music: they do their best and follow the ground rules

         P.E.: they do their best and show great effort in P.E.
