Paper Marbling: A Decorative Paper Technique Invented by the Persians
Children learned the process of paper marbling by floating different colors of paint on an oil/water bath, stirring the paint gently, and then placing paper on the mixture. Persians called it marble paper because the paint patterns looked like marbled stone.
