Winter Athletics Information: Basketball Season Tryout Information
The following information is for 7th and 8th grade students wishing to participate in basketball. 6th graders are not eligible to participate in athletics.
  1. Due to the gym floor at Forest Oak not being usable, tryouts and practices will be held at Shady Grove Middle School for the upcoming season. Students wishing to participate will be bussed from Forest Oak to Shady Grove on Mondays and Fridays. Parents will need to pick their child up from Shady Grove Middle School on practice days. Also, all games will be played away, as double headers.
  2. The Tryout dates are Monday December 9th and Friday December 13th from 3:15pm-4:15pm. Participants will only be allowed to bring water into the gym.
  3. Students must register for basketball tryouts on ParentVUE. Registration for middle school basketball is open NOW! See the ParentVue Support Guide (SPANISH) for help.
  4. Students must have an up-to-date physical on file (last 2 years). A physician must complete the Pre-Participation Form, (SPANISH) you may upload it to Parent VUE or email it to Ms. Kaufman (Jamie_Kaufman@mcpsmd.org).  
  5. Students must be registered and have their physical turned in by December 6th, in order to be allowed to participate.
