About Our First Grade Teachers
Ms. Shannon Carneal
Hi! I'm Ms. Carneal. This year will be my 8th year teaching at the Creek. I have taught 3rd grade and 1st grade at GSCES. Outside of school, I enjoy playing with my dogs, attending sporting events (most likely baseball), or spending time with my family & friends. I am excited for a great year in 1st grade!
Ms. Ellen James
Hi! I'm Mrs. James and this is my 14th year teaching! I've been all over the building, and I'm thrilled to be back in the classroom in 1st grade this year. In my time outside of school, I love to get a fresh bouquet from the farmer's market, grab an afternoon iced coffee, and walk the C&O Canal with my family. I love to be outside and explore new places. I hope to learn and grow with my students this year, and I'm looking forward to all our new adventures!
Ms. Leslie Cajul
Hi Bullfrogs! I am so excited to teach 1st grade this year! This will be my 3rd year at the Creek. I have previously taught 2nd grade. I graduated from Towson University and live in Bowie. During my free time I enjoy baking/cooking, watching movies and spending time with friends. I look forward to working with your child, this year is going to be amazing!
Ms. Stephanie Raleigh
Hello Bullfrog families! My name is Stephanie Raleigh. I am a first grade teacher. I am one of the original teachers who opened The Creek in 2006.This is my 39th year teaching and my 26th year in MCPS. I am a Native New Yorker where I began my teaching career. I am an alumni of Stony Brook University. I live here in Germantown with my husband and a very energetic French Bulldog puppy named Milo. I have two adult children- Jalen and Tanajah. In my spare time I love to read, costume design and attend ANY theater production.
