Chaperone Information:

At this time, we have are no longer able to accept additional requests to chaperone Outdoor Education. If you have already submitted your chaperone request, we will be contacting you with details about the trip. Please email Mrs. Crawford with any chaperone questions. bridgette_k_crawford@mcpsmd.org

 

Picking-up your student after Outdoor Education:

  • Please complete this questionnaire so we know how students are getting home after Outdoor Education
  • Session 1 students (Last Names A-L) should be picked up from HWMS on Wednesday 9/18 at 1pm
  • Session 2 students (Last Names M-Z) should be picked up from HWMS on Wednesday 9/25 at 1pm
  • Students will not be able to ride the bus home after Outdoor Ed. They must be picked up or walk home at 1pm.
  • Students will only be allowed to leave with adults listed in the student's ParentVue emergency information
  • If your child will be leaving with an adult not listed in their emergency information, a handwritten, dated, and signed note must be turned in to school 
  • Any adult picking up a child (including parents) will be required to show a government issued ID. The name on the ID must match the information listed in ParentVue.
How do I pay for Outdoor Education?
Outdoor Education is $96 per child. This fee includes a $76 site fee and an additional $20 for educational presentations and activities.  This charge covers the expense of renting the site, transportation, three meals per day plus evening snacks, access to a nurse, and securing reimbursement insurance. 
You may pay cash (exact amount required), by check to Hallie Wells Middle School, or online through School Cash Online 
If you need financial assistance, please attach a note to the permission slip indicating the amount you are able to pay. No other documentation is required. All of this information is confidential. No child will be denied the opportunity to participate in Outdoor Education because of financial difficulties
