Incoming 6th Grade Parent and Student Academy
Attention all incoming 6th Graders for the 2024-2025 school year! It’s time to sign-up for our inaugural 6th Grade Summer Parent & Student Academy at Hallie Wells!
The mission of the academy is to enrich students’ middle school experience by bridging the gap between elementary school and middle school through the provision of resources, support, and information directly to parents and caregivers. Think of our academy as an orientation to all things middle school for 6th grade parents, caregivers, and students!
On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, and Wednesday, July 24, 2024, we will be hosting the academies, which will take the place of the traditional summer orientation. Parents/Caregivers may attend the academy on their own, with their student, or, students are invited to attend themselves. During the academy, there will be sessions specifically for parents/caregivers and sessions for students! Please note that New Student Orientation [NSO] will still be hosted on Thursday, August 22, 2024, as that is an MCPS-mandated event for all students who are new to any MCPS school, regardless of grade. You will be hearing more about that event at a later date.
Incoming 6th Grade families can sign up for the summer academy by going to bit.ly/HWMSAcademySignup We kindly ask that you only sign up for one date so that as many families as possible can benefit from the experience. We can’t wait to meet our new Mustang families!
