Montgomery County Recreation is excited to return to John F. Kennedy High School for another year of Rec Zone after-school enrichment programming. The Rec Zone program runs from September 24 to May 22, 2025, and is free for all students. The program takes place Monday through Thursday, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, in the cafeteria (where meals will be served), as well as in other classrooms (check with Rec Zone staff) and outdoors.
Rec Zone offers a wide variety of programs, including academic support/homework center, basics of cosmetology, Latin and hip-hop dance, fitness training, art, sports, community service, field trips, and more!
All students are encouraged to participate on a drop-in basis. By signing up, students can enjoy engaging and purposeful programs in a safe and welcoming environment. These activities help develop relationships, encourage creativity, build independence, and strengthen leadership skills.
Activity buses will be available at 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday.
To participate in Rec Zone, stop by the gym during lunch, visit the main office, or come to the cafeteria after school. You can also use the QR code on the Rec Zone flyer to sign up and get started.
