PSAT for 8th graders
Dear Parents/Guardians of 8th Grade Students:
I am writing to inform you that 8th grade students will be given the opportunity to participate in the Fall PSAT 8/9 on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Kingsview Middle School. The PSAT 8/9 establishes a baseline measurement of college and career readiness as students prepare to enter high school. It also gives students a chance to preview the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, and PSAT10 and connect to AP courses. The PSAT 8/9 does not require students to recall specific facts and is not a requirement to apply to MCPS magnet programs. All students are eligible to participate; IEP accommodations will be provided. During high school, however, make sure you check with your child’s counselor about accommodations.
This school year, the PSAT tests must be ordered on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Therefore, parents who would like their child to participate in the Fall 2023 PSAT 8/9 are required to complete the permission slip below along with the PSAT Student Questionnaire Consent Form and return them to their child’s English teacher by Friday, September 1, 2023. The cost of the PSAT 8/9 is $15 and should be paid via SchoolCash Online
