Middle School Athletics Registration

Middle School Athletics in MCPS is only open to 7th and 8th graders. Registration is conducted through the ParentVUE Portal. The ParentVUE online registration portal, available in English and Spanish, incorporates all required paper forms and documents into an internet-based platform that can be accessed using a secure ParentVUE Portal login. Parents/guardians are also able to scan and upload their student's physical, as part of the registration process.

Registration Dates and Deadlines

• Fall Athletics (Softball & Cross Country)  

• • Registration OPENS: Monday, August 12, 2024
  • Registration DEADLINE: Friday, September 5, 2024
  • Tryouts are scheduled to begin on September 10, 2024.  

• Winter Athletics (Basketball):

• • Registration OPENS: Monday, October 28, 2024
  • Registration DEADLINE: Tuesday, November 26, 2024
  • Tryouts are scheduled to begin on December 10, 2024  

• Spring Athletics (Soccer):

• • Registration OPENS: Monday, January 27, 2025
  • Registration DEADLINE: Tuesday February 25, 2025
  • Tryouts are scheduled to begin on March 11, 2025

Pre-Participation Physical

Our 7th and 8th grade students interested in trying-out for athletics must complete their pre-participation physical. Submit the medical eligibility form (last two pages of SR-8) via the ParentVue Portal by the registration deadlines listed above. This form is valid for two years from the date of the exam and covers participation for all sports within that time period. The physical and registration must be submitted by the registration deadlines listed above for students to participate.
