Good evening Lakewood community, this is Principal Berner with information for the school week ofMonday, October 15th, through Friday, October 19th.

 **News That You Can Use:

  • A Huge Kudos goes out to our fabulous parents for setting up and working the Scholastic book fairthe past week. A special thanks to our PTA book fair chairs, Mrs. Eisenfeld, Mrs. Luxenberg and Mrs. Lachter for their dedication in building/breaking down the displays and manning the registers all week. They did an awesome job!

  • Middle School Enriched and Acceleration Selection: Attention Fifth grade parents, central review letters for our fifth grade students will be mailed out this upcoming week as part of the middle school enriched and acceleration evaluation process for local middle enriched and accelerated school courses and center magnet programs. Parents please read the letter in its entirety and remember you have the option to opt in or out of the identified testing selection for your child. If you choose to do so, please send in the completed form to our GT Liaison, Mrs. Colleen Roux.

  • October is here! Don’t forget to have your child dress accordingly for the ever-changing weather during this month.  You may want to watch or listen for the weather forecast because there will be days your child may need to wear a jacket, long or short sleeves, or even long pants. Also, remember tolabel all outerwear and personal items with your child’s name. If your child is missing any items, you are free to check the Lost and Found in the front hallway.

  • Don’t forget to join the PTA! Your membership and donations help with our programming needs and classroom materials! This year the PTA is asking for a lump sum instead of doing a lot of fundraising--there are four different levels of participation. The Eaglet level is the least expensive at $30 and will cover the $25 classroom fee for parties and your membership. We need your participation!! Pleasejoin at: www.lakewood
