Montgomery County Recreation is excited to return to Magruder High School for its 3rd year of Rec Zone after-school enrichment programming. The new session of Rec Zone begins on September 24th and will run after school for all students. Programs will be held Tuesday through Thursday, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, in the cafeteria (where meals will be served), in other classrooms (please check with RecZone staff), and outdoors.
RecZone will offer a variety of programs, including but not limited to academic support/homework center, basics of cosmetology, Latin and hip-hop dance, engineering, fitness training, art, sports, community service, field trips, and more!
All students are encouraged to participate on a drop-in basis. By signing up, students can enjoy engaging and purposeful programs in a safe and accommodating environment, which will help them develop relationships, explore their creativity, strengthen independence, and enhance leadership skills. Students may come and go from other school activities through a sign-in/sign-out process. For example, students can attend another after-school activity, then join Rec Zone from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, or participate in Rec Zone from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM before heading to another activity or sport.
Activity buses will be available at 4:30 PM Tuesday through Thursday.
To participate in Rec Zone, stop by the gym during lunch, visit the main office, or come to the cafeteria after school. We also encourage you to use the QR code on the Rec Zone flyer to sign up and get started.
