Accelerated Reader

    Accelerated Reader is a reading incentive program, developed by Renaissance Learning Company, that uses a list of books with assigned point values and computer software to encourage students to read challenging material.

    2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at McAuliffe ES are participating in Accelerated Reader.  Here is how it works:

    1. The student selects a book from the AR list
    2. The student reads the book thoroughly and carefully
    3. The student tell his/her teacher that he/she needs to take an AR quiz.
    4. The student takes and hopefully passes the quiz, then moves on to select another book.
