Minority Scholars Program Film Festival - Feb 24th

"The Minority Scholars Program (MSP) is hosting the inaugural Youth Anti-Racist Film Festival, featuring documentaries created and produced by MCPS students to push for positive change within schools and communities. Ten student-produced films were selected as finalists and will be featured from 10 a.m.–noon on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center, 8633 Colesville Road in Silver Spring. Among the films to be shown will be student work from four high schools—Montgomery Blair, Gaithersburg, Rockville and Northwest—and four middle schools—Lakelands Park, Odessa Shannon, Parkland and Forest Oak. The free event will also include music, food, entertainment and discussion. MSP is a student-led initiative that has steadily worked to change the conversation around race, equity and the opportunity gap. MSP has been growing steadily and now has chapters in every MCPS high school, 29 middle schools and 10 elementary schools."
