About Us
Mr. Leavitt, Resnik's Media Specialist and Librarian, works to give students an opportunity to read what interests them. Building a lifelong interest in learning, a desire to build trust and teamwork amongst peers, as well as utilizing technology effectively are what he strives to teach students. Previously, he was a classroom teacher, teaching 2nd graders and kindergarteners. He comes from a family of teachers, with no fewer than 8 family members having a history teaching in Montgomery County Public Schools. He enjoys reading books of all kinds, studying movies, playing video games, and relaxing at home with his wife and two kittens. He is very excited to be a part of the Resnik community!
Ms. Swindell is excited to return to Judith Resnik Elementary School as the media assistant. Her love of books & technology stems from spending her childhood summers in the library with her family. When she is not in eagle territory, she likes to spend her time going out with her husband and children. She enjoys reading, baking, and singing in her spare time. She looks forward to meeting, learning & growing with all the staff and students.
Mrs. Simmons serves as the ITSS for Resnik (in addition to Candlewood, Cashell, and Greenwood Elementary Schools). She provides technology support, including operational and maintenance services, information, and assistance focused on staff and student productivity.
Mr. Leavitt and Mrs. Swindell may be contacted by email at any time.
