2019 Updated Summer School Bus Routes

We are looking forward to a very exciting and successful summer school program and we now have our updated Summer School Bus Routes for students and parents to reference.  We will see you soon.

Student Summer Service

Students, would you like an opportunity to earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours this summer? If your answer is yes, then the “Student Summer Service” is for you. Beginning Wednesday, June 26, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, students will have an opportunity to give back to the community and earn SSL hours. The activities, dates, and time are noted on the website. Some activities are limited to 25 students, so sign up today via the link on the Frost website. Students will meet at Frost MS. Please call the main office at 301-279-3949, if you have questions.

Yearbook Expectations

Robert Frost Yearbooks have been distributed to students.  We have a few left and we are selling them at SOAR for $50.00.  Students please heed the five expectations we have outlined for the yearbook.

Florida STEM Trip - Parent Meeting

Are you interested in going on the March 2020 Florida STEM Trip?Come to the parent meeting on May 9, 2019 @ 6 pm in room 205. 

Internet Safety & Cyber Bullying Presentation

Mr. Steve Chaikin was our guest speaker at the Principal-Parent Breakfast on Friday April 12, 2019.  Mr. Chaikin gave an important presentation on internet safety, cyber bulling, and new laws that protect our students.  To view Mr. Chaikin's presentation, please click this link.

Robert Frost Middle School's Therapy Dog Visits

The Counseling Department at Robert Frost Middle School is happy to announce they will be periodically hosting therapy dog visits.  The purpose of the therapy dog visits will be to provide nonjudgemental listening and love for students in an academic setting.  The dogs are vaccinated, trained, and registered with TDI (Therapy Dogs International). The dogs will be accompanied by the owners when visiting Frost.  If you have any questions, call Ms. Hallas 301-279-3965.  We do have a form if you choose not to have your child participate. 

Wootton High School Summer Institute for rising 9th graders

Wootton High School is offering a Summer Institute Program this summer for all 8th grade students rising to 9th grade next year. The mission of Wootton's Institute is to provide every student with the opportunity to continue their education and improve upon their academic skills throughout the summer in order to prepare them for advanced educational opportunities offered at Wootton and at the collegiate level.  The registration deadline is May 1, 2019.

The Maryland Integrated Science Assessment 2019

The Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (MISA) will occur Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13, 2019.  The assessment consists of four units and 8th grade students will participate in testing two units per day.  The performance assessment gathered from the administration of MISA provides schools with valuable data to support our students to become career and college ready.

Robert Frost Government Workers Appreciation Dinner was a huge success!

"Thank You".  The Government Workers Appreciation Dinner was a huge success!  Because of the generosity of so many, we shared a delicious meal with nearly 100 parents (and grandparents), children and volunteers on January 31, 2019.  Additionally, we were able to support a women's shelter in Rockville.

Powerpoint presented at Principal/Parent Breakfast by J. Darius Greene

On January 11, 2019, we had our 3rd Principal/Parent Breakfast at Robert Frost Middle School.  Our special guest speaker was J. Darius Greene, the Assistant Director of Arts and Humanities at University of Maryland.  Mr. Greene gave an outstanding presentation on "What Parents Can Do To Prepare Their Middle School Students For College".  We have made the Power Point presentation available for your viewing.

MAP-M and MAP-R Testing Letter and Timeline

The Measures of Academic Progress for Math and Reading (MAP-M and MAP-R) assessment will occur in the fall, winter and spring.  MAP is a computer-adaptive achievement test that quickly provides an assessment of a student's skill level in the different reading and mathematical achievement areas.
