Meet the Pre-K Team

Melissa Laurie: Hi, my name is Melissa Laurie. Welcome to PreK! What an amazing journey we get to embark on together. You will not believe how much your child will grow this year. We have so much planned, and I can’t wait to get to know you and your family. I have a dog named Smudge. He is named that because he is all white except for a little spot of black fur on his back. He is 4 years old and is very active! He keeps me very busy when I am not teaching. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education in 1993. I also have my Master’s Equivalency. This marks my 32nd year as a teacher, and my 17th year here at Rockview. Here at Rockview I have taught Kindergarten for 11 years and first grade for 3 years. This is my third year teaching PreK and this is where my heart truly is!.
