RPMS Physical Education Overview
Our Mission is to teach strategies and concepts so students may be successful in a variety of activities to include personal fitness, individual skills and team tactics within modified games. All while reinforcing cooperation through positive, social interaction. We encourage students to take positive risks, seek out challenges, and learn from their mistakes in a safe environment.
Our Approach is a combination of tactical concepts and strategies used within the Sport Education Model.

Health Education Overview:
Each year, in order to be compliant with the State of Maryland COMAR 13A.04.18.00 regulation, every student completes nine weeks of a health course. We will conduct face to face learning and will adhere to the Scope and Sequence provided by MCPS.
Grade 6 Units of study: Mental and Emotional Health, Substance Use and Misuse Prevention, Safety and Violence Prevention, Healthy Eating
Grade 7 Units of study: Mental and Emotional Health, Substance Use and Misuse Prevention, Family Life and Human Sexuality, Disease Prevention and Control
Grade 8 Units of study: Mental and Emotional Health, Opioid Prevention, Safety and Violence Prevention, Family Life and Human Sexuality and Healthy Eating.
