Spring Testing Dates

Each Spring, all schools in the state administer mandatory standardized testing in English/Language Arts and Mathematics for Grades 6-8, and a Social Studies test in Grade 8 only, as part of the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP).

We ask for your support in ensuring your students are present and on-time for school on state testing days. This is essential to our smooth operation and ensuring we minimize time that students miss from classes due to make-up testing. If possible, please avoid scheduling any medical or other appointments that would result in an absence or tardy.

Whole School Sligo MS Testing Dates: Morning AND Afternoon Testing Sessions

MCAP Math: Tuesday, April 29th
MCAP English/Language Arts: Wednesday, April 30th and Thursday, May 1st

8th Grade Only Testing Dates:

MCAP Social Studies: Tuesday, May 13th and Wednesday, May 14th

In addition, we ask for your support in talking with your student about the importance of these tests and being prepared. For your review, there is a practice website where students can go online and see how the tests will look and try out some of the embedded features.
