Summer School @ TPMS

We are so excited to see you for our combined Summer School Program at Takoma Park Middle School for students from Sligo, Silver Spring International, and Takoma Park Middle Schools. All students will be combined into the same classes. We are excited to build our community with other schools in our region. 

Summer School will run from July 10 to July 28. Students may begin arriving at 7:45am. Classes will start at 8:00am. Dismissal will be at 12:30pm. 

Students will take Math and English Language Arts courses each day. They will also rotate through three different elective courses: Physical Education and Wellness, Art, and Exploring with Science. The elective courses will change every week. Students should wear sneakers every day to be prepared for Physical Education and Wellness classes.

Students will be provided breakfast and lunch daily. They may also bring their own lunches, if they prefer.

Free transportation will be provided through MCPS school buses.

Parent drop off should not use the bus loop. The bus loop will be blocked off during drop off and pick up times. Please do NOT park in the drop off lanes. If you need to park, please pull into a parking spot. Look at the attached map to see the route you should follow when dropping off your student.

If you or your family’s summer plans have changed and you will not be able to attend our program, please let us know, as we have a fairly large wait list for students wanting to enroll. If your child will miss more than a week of summer school, we ask that you let us know so we can enroll additional students.
