Construction Updates:
THE FIRST: On January 10, 2008, the Sediment Control Permit was issued for our construction project! Parts of our playground have been staked off and fenced so that construction can begin. The upper blacktop area of our playground will be completely closed off, as this will be the contractor’s staging location, where they will set up their construction trailer and all of their supplies and materials. We have waited a very long time for the work to begin and feel very confident that it will begin soon!
THE LATEST: November 24, 2009
In the past 2 weeks:
- Completing the punch list in the 2-story addition
- Floors have been installed in the North wing and admin area
- Built-ins have been installed in both areas
- New ceiling unit installed on the stage
- Sprinkler heads installed
- Interior glass installed
During the next 2 weeks:
- Carpet will be installed
- Ceiling tiles will be dropped into place
- Doors and hardware will be installed
- Front canopy work will begin
The North wing will have furniture delivered on Saturday, Dec. 19.
The admin area will have furniture delivered on Monday, Dec. 21.
Grade 2 and 3 teachers can get into their North wing rooms, beginning on Dec. 21.
Movers will be here to move boxes on Monday-Wednesday, Dec. 21-23.
The three temporary walls (main lobby, past Fran’s room, and past the all-purpose room) will come down next week so the construction crew can tie the new work into the existing work. Those areas will continue to be blocked off for staff and students by 2x4 half-walls.
