Kindergarten
Mrs. Michelle GibsonHello! I’m Michelle Gibson and I am part of the kindergarten team. This is my 14th year teaching and my 10th year as a Wallaby. My family is originally from Ghana, West Africa and I’m a First Generation American. In 2011, I graduated from The University of Maryland with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I completed a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Technology in 2017. I also completed a Graduate Certificate program at The George Washington University and became ESOL certified. In my spare time, I love to hang out with my family, read, play video games, and work on various classroom and craft projects. I am looking forward to yet another wonderful year at Westover with our mini-wallabies! |
Mrs. Kember KaneMrs. Kane grew up in New Jersey with one brother. She went to the Pennsylvania State University, back in the 1900’s. She likes children’s books like Pete the Cat that encourage children to learn and grow into great people. She believes that every child deserves an excellent foundation in school. Because adults have the power to make that happen, their well-being must be prioritized to ensure that children’s needs are met. She enjoys spending time laughing with her husband, teacher friends, and grown-up children. |
Mrs. Rene BlitzHi! My name is Rene Blitz and I am so excited to be part of the Kindergarten team this year. This is my fourth year as a Wallaby, where I also work as an Intervention Teacher. In 2004, I received my Master's Degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from New York University. I taught children with special needs in both Maryland and New York before settling at Westover in 2021. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, attending my boys’ sporting events, gardening and reading. I am looking forward to getting to know my students this year and watching them grow! |
