Mr. Ed Fisher, PE TeacherHi, I am Edward Fisher and I have been the PE teacher at Westover ES for 10 years. I feel lucky to be the PE teacher for such a wonderful school and community. I have been a teacher for 25 years. I was previously a 4th and 5th grade teacher, as well as a science teacher in a magnet school. Teaching P.E. and helping students improve sports skills and learn to love healthy movement is my favorite though. I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and went to Penn State. I also have a MS in Environmental Science from Johns Hopkins University. I live in Silver Spring and my wife and I have twin sons who are going to 5th Grade. We also have a big fluffy sheepdog named Charlie. In my free time I love to do any outdoor activity or sport, but I also like to spend time reading. My sons and I recently read a Star Wars book called Thrawn. It was excellent. |
Ms. Maggie Delaney, Art TeacherHi! My name is Maggie Delaney and I am the art teacher! This is my first year teaching art at Westover ES and I am overjoyed to be here. I received my BFA in Fine Art from Salisbury University and then went on to earn my MFA at The Pennsylvania Academy of the arts. Besides making and teaching art, I also love to read, hike, garden, and spend lots of time with my husband, Tony, and our dog, Pippin:-) I can't wait to create with you all this year! |
Mr. Peter Frassrand, Music TeacherOriginally from Detroit, I’ve called the DC area home for almost 30 years. I’ve taught in MCPS schools for 23 of those years, and my kids are products of MCPS schools too. In my classroom, I try to expose kids to many different kinds of music, and to many ways of making music. When I’m not teaching or hanging out with my family, I perform as a jazz pianist around town. And my favorite animals are wallabies and wolverines, the mascots of Westover and the University of Michigan, where I went to college. |
