Birthday Policy
We at Westover enjoy celebrating the birthdays of our students. However, for the safety of our students and the continuity of our programming, we require the following:
- Simple birthday treats, that are store-bought (no homemade treats) with ingredients listed, may be dropped off the first few minutes of lunch OR for the last 15 minutes of the school day. We do not host birthday “parties”.
- All drop-offs MUST be pre arranged with the teacher; no surprises, please!
- No candles, ice cream, balloons, or cakes that require refrigeration or cutting.
- Teachers/staff will distribute the dropped-off treats; caregivers and siblings will not proceed to the cafeteria or classroom spaces.

Personal Mobile Device / Cell Phone Policy
(PLEASE note that while students may have cell phones on property, they may NOT use them during school hours; this includes SMART Watches—caregivers should NOT be texting their child during the instructional day and students should not be responding. Should you need to reach your child, please call the main office!) If used during school hours, devices will be taken for parent pick up.

School Based Events
There will be a number of school-based events throughout the year, including those that may occur during the school day (ie, Wax Museum, class parties, field trips). Caregivers may be asked to volunteer or invited to visit these events. Due to safety and liability reasons, please note that younger siblings and/or younger family members may not attend events during the school day. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
