Selective Service

ATTENTION!! MALE STUDENTS - Especially SENIORS

If you will be 18 within 30 days, you must register with the Selective Service. Failure to register, or otherwise comply with the Military Selective Service Act is, upon conviction, punishable by a fine of up to $250,000, imprisonment for up to five years, or both. In addition, Federal and certain State laws require registration as a prerequisite for obtaining student financial aid, job training, government employment, and U.S. naturalization.

You can register online. You can also register by mail; registration cards are available at the U.S. Post Office and a limited number are in the Career Center. Finally, if you won't be 18 years old prior to completing the Federal Appication for Student Aid form (FAFSA) answer yes to questions 27 and 28 on page three as you complete it. This will allow Selective Service to register you automatically.

...REMEMBER - Male Seniors - to apply for and receive any federal financial aid you MUST register for the Selective Service. You are required to register within 30 days of your 18th birthday. Questions about the registration process can be directed to Ms. Evans in the Career Center.
