Montgomery County Recreation partners with Montgomery County Public Schools to provide quality, no to low cost out-of-school time opportunities for youth and families. Our recreation activities and services allow youth and teens to make the most of their time outside of school. Through these various outlets, we help young people become healthier, gain leadership experience, develop career skills and connect with caring adult role models.
Montgomery County Recreation offers a variety of after school programs for elementary, middle and high school aged youth, both at community recreation centers and at school locations.
14 Current Locations: Burnt Mills, South Lake, Harmony Hills, Gaithersburg, Georgian Forest, Greencastle, JoAnn Leleck, Oak View, Weller Road, Whetstone, Roscoe Nix, New Hampshire Estates, Cresthaven, Wheaton Woods. Students in grades 1-6 are referred into the programs at each location
This program is offered September - June from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. for grades K-5 for $75 per month. Current locations inlude Gwendolyn E. Coffield CRC, Damascus CRC, East County CRC, Long Branch CRC, Mid-County CRC, North Potomac CRC, Plum Gar CRC, Marilyn J. Praisner CRC, Upper County CRC and White Oak CRC. Youth will learn and participate in recreation activites including sports, crafts, dance and more.
Eight Current Locations: Argyle, Clemente, Forest Oak, Key, Loiederman, Montgomery Village, Neelsville, and Shannon.

Offered in partnership with MCPS, Kids Day Out provides out of school supervised recreation programs to keep youth active when MCPS has scheduled days off (at minimal to no cost). For ages 6 - 11.

Students in Middle and High Schools are referred into this program that offers a Fall and Spring Soccer League.
Whether you are looking for a meaningful way to give back to the community -- either as an individual or part of a group -- are seeking new experiences and skills, or need to fulfill Student Service Learning (SSL) requirements, there is a Recreation volunteer opportunity that will suit your interests and needs. Montgomery County Recreation also offers a wide range of opportunities for individuals ages 15 and up who are interested in working in recreation programs and services located around the County.
Students are eligible to sign up for the volunteer program at age 14 and earn student service learning hours for their time.
