Summer English & Reading

Cabin John Middle School (CJMS) is committed to academic success for all students. As a means to this end, we ask that students complete a reading and grammar packet over the summer to prepare for the school year. Students must also obtain a parent's signature in order to verify that the student has completed the packet. The packet will be collected the first week of school, counted as a homework assignment, and later used in conjunction with a formative assessment in English class. The due date and deadline for this assignment is the 2^nd day of school.

All CJMS students are expected to complete the Summer Packet, including those who transfer to into CJMS over the summer or during the first week of school. Because this information is being provided to all elementary feeder schools before the end of the school term and will be posted on the CJMS website throughout the summer, every student should have met these expectations by the first day of school. Likewise, students who transfer from CJMS are expected to contact their new school(s) for information about their expectations.
