    May 2025 AP & IB Test Calendar

    All students taking IB exams, please be sure to review the IB Notice to Candidates.

    Advanced Placement (AP) Exams

    MCPS will pay for exam registrations for students enrolled in an AP course and registered by November 1, 2024. Students will register for their exams, through AP Classroom, in their AP classes.

    • Students registering late, canceling the exam, or not present to take the AP exams will be responsible for the AP fee of $40/exam.
    • Students who elect to take an AP exam and are NOT enrolled in the corresponding AP course will be responsible for registering via AP Classroom using the appropriate self-study join code and paying the AP exam fee of $94 by November 1, 2024 via School Cash Online.
    • Students enrolled in an AP course for the 2024-2025 school year are expected to participate in the corresponding AP exam.

    International Baccalaureate (IB) Exams

    MCPS will pay for exam registrations for students enrolled in the full IB Diploma Programme. Registration will take place through Theory of Knowledge class and Managebac. No further action is required.

    • If a student is NOT in the full IB Diploma Programme, but is currently taking one or more IB classes and is interested in taking the corresponding IB exam(s) in May 2025, please complete this form by October 30, 2024. IB exams will be paid for by MCPS as long as students complete ALL assessment components (including the Internal Assessment and all seated exams for the course). 
    • Once registered, a student must take the exam, otherwise the student will be obligated for the full cost of the exam plus a processing fee (approximately $127 per exam).  IB exam registration closes on November 11, 2024.  If a student is registered for an exam, and decides not to take the test, students must notify Mrs. Trivers in writing, no later than January 5, 2025 to avoid the obligation.
