Arts Investigations Syllabus

This 18 week course is an exciting art experience that includes visual art, music, dance/movement and theatre. Students explore the main elements of visual art, music, dance and theatre. They begin to understand how artists organize these elements to create effective artwork, music, dance and theatre. Through projects, students investigate the art of other cultures, heighten their sensitivity to the arts, and begin to apply criteria for recognizing quality in the various art forms. By the end of the course, students will demonstrate mastery of indicators of the Maryland State Department of Education Voluntary State Curriculum for visual art, music, dance, and theatre.
