Foreign Language
  • In all foreign language courses students are expected to display basic competence in the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.  According to the MCPS Course Bulletin for 2000-2001, "Credit will be awarded automatically after the student has passed the final examination, passed the course, and successfully completed the next level of the course sequence while in high school."

Special Education
  • The Special Needs Department offers services to students who are identified with a specific educationally related disability. Services are provided based on the Individualized Education Program for each student. The main focus is to use the curriculum for each specific grade and subject to address the goal and objectives. A variety of strategies and accomodations are incorporated into the program, including consultive, resource, inclusive classes, and self-contained classrooms.

REACH
  • Using the school motto, We are RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, AND READY TO LEARN, the REACH program is available to students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 who are at risk of failure. The program provides academic support to non-handicapped students who are recommended for participation by their academic team. REACH focuses attention on student organization and study skills. Assignments from the academic classes are used to address areas of need.
