Software Applications by Design

Overview

Students will begin with a review of keyboarding skills. The course introduces, and explores, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to use each of these applications to produce meaningful and authentic projects. Upon successful completion of this course and a countywide exam, students will receive 1 high school credit.

  • Students use a variety of editing and formatting features to create documents.

Microsoft Excel 2010

  • Students use an application that tracks, analyzes, and charts numeric information.

Microsoft PowerPoint 2010

  • Students use a presentation graphics program to present data and information in a colorful and powerful format.

Microsoft Access 2010

  • Students use database management system to store, retrieve, and manage information.
