Discipline Policy Review Meeting
The materials for the discipine policy review meeting can now be found here. They include the agenda for the meeting, the school's philosophy on discipline, the behavior intervention flow chart, the student reflection sheet, and the MCPS discipline guide as it relates to special education students. Also included is a summary of the meeting.

The MCPS Department of Special Education is offering a series of workshops designed to help parents use technology to improve the performance of students. More information can be found here.
8th Grade Parent Meeting
The first 8th grade parents' meeting will be held at Baker Tuesday, October 23rd, 7:00pm. All 8th grade parents interested in helping with the promotion ceremony, 8th grade dance, yearbook signing, t-shirts, and fundraising are encouraged to attend. 6th Grade Potluck
Make plans now to attend the 6th grade potluck prior to the dance on October 18th. More information is here.
Planning for an Absence?
If your child is going to be out of school on a pre-arranged absence, please complete the Request for Absence and Independent Study Contract. The form will be given to students once the absence has been approved by administration. Details about the process are on the form.

Online Achievement and Reporting System (OARS) Information
Baker will be using new grading software this year, as a part MCPS OARS. You can find more information about OARS here.
Spanish Speakers Needed
We need parent volunteers who can speak both Spanish and English to help support our Spanish speaking parents. Many of our Spanish speaking families would like to be able to call or email another Baker parent who speaks Spanish when they have a question about school. We would also like to have a Spanish speaking parent call or email our new Spanish speaking parents when they register their children here at Baker during the school year. If you would be willing to be such a contact parent, please call Mrs. Worthington, principal, at 301-253-7010 or email her at Louise_J_Worthington@mcpsmd.org. Thank you for considering to help us make Baker a welcoming place for our Spanish speaking families!
Necesitamos padres voluntarios que sepan hablar español e ingles para ayudar y apoyar a aquellos padres de solo habla hispana. Muchas de nuestras familias de habla hispana quisieran llamar y mandar correos electrónicos a otros padres que al igual que ellos hablen español y asisten a Baker, para así poder preguntar cualquier pregunta sobre la escuela. De igual manera, para facilitar la transición de una escuela a otra, para nuevos padres de habla hispana que registren a su hijo(s) a la escuela, quisiéramos tener un padre que hable español para que por medio de llamadas o correos electrónicos pueda orientar e informar durante el año escolar a otros padres que no hablen el ingles. Si estarías dispuesto a ser tal “padre de contacto”, por favor llamar a la directora Sra.
