The Westland administration and staff will meet with 6th and 7th grade parents in the Chevy Chase Elementary School media center on Thursday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss registration and the course selection process.
The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services has advised us that the previously scheduled H1N1 (swine) flu vaccination clinics on November 4, November 11, and November 18 at Northwood, Northwest, and Rockville high schools have been cancelled due to shortages of the H1N1 vaccine. For up-to-date information about vaccine availability, visit the county’s website www.montgomerycountymd.gov/h1n1flu or call the flu hotline at 240-777-4200.
The flu mist was administered to CCES students with parental permission on September 25, 2009. Students who were absent on September 25 received the flu mist on October 1, 2009. According to our school nurse, it is okay for students who received the flu mist on September 25 or October 1 to get the H1N1 flu mist.

The MCPS Parent Academy is back with an exciting lineup of free workshops for parents.
Applications for the Center Program for the Highly Gifted have been mailed home to all third graders in MCPS Applications must be postmarked by Monday, November 9, 2009. A schedule of parent meetings for the Center Program for the Highly Gifted, Middle School Application Magnet Programs, and Middle School Magnet Consortium programs are attached.
School Tours for prospective students and parents will be held on December 8, January 13, February 11, and May 12.
