Boosters Increase Scholarships for 2009
To broaden access to post-secondary education in a difficult economy, the AEHS Boosters offered six $1,000 scholarships for senior student athletes in 2009. The scholarships were awarded to three female and three male students.
2009 was our 7th year of recognizing athletic participants who demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, dedication, sportsmanship and academic commitment. In 2009, the Boosters increased the number of scholarships awarded from four to six.
Here a few reminders about Booster scholarships:
*Applicants must have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
*Parents/guardians of applicants must be Booster members. Memberships are always available and cost as little as $10.
*Students may qualify for a scholarship regardless of financial circumstances.
*Scholarships are open to players, team managers, trainers or statisticians who have participated on a varsity athletic team or spirit team for at least two years at Einstein.
*Scholarships can be used to pursue post-secondary education at technical and vocational schools as well as at colleges and universities.
After applications are reviewed, semifinalists will be chosen for a personal interview. Finalists are announcede announced at the annual May Senior Recognition ceremony.

2009 Booster Club Scholarship
Spring Mulch Sale a Huge Success!
The Boosters are grateful to members of the Einstein community for setting a sales record during the 2009 spring mulch sale. The Boosters received total orders for 4,437 bags, more than 200 above the previous record set in 2007. Curbside deliveries of the two-cubic-foot bags of shredded hardwood accounted for nearly 90 percent of the total, with pick-up of orders in the school parking lot by customers accounting for the remainder. The Boosters sold the mulch for $4.25 per bag, including curbside delivery.
Deliveries were made on March 21 by a fleet of trucks, with school athletes toting the bags to customers' homes. The athletes' participation in the sale helped earn money for their teams in what is one of the Boosters' biggest fundraisers of the year. The Boosters earned a net amount of nearly $7,200, with nearly $3,000 of that total distributed to teams that assisted with the sale.

Booster Mission
Members of the Booster Club support all of the Einstein athletic programs. Since this a not-for-profit organization, memberships are tax-deductible.
The Booster Club works with the administration to cultivate a strong partnership between athletics and academics, improve athletic facilities, strengthen teams and increase eligibility for athletic participation. The Boosters engage in yearround fundraising to support its mission, with concessions at games, the sale of Einstein spirit wear and a spring mulch sale.
In addition to supporting the athletic teams at Einstein, the Booster Club awards $1,000 scholarships each year. These scholarships are designed to recognize outstanding graduating athletes at Albert Einstein.
