Meet MoCo CAP and our Career Coach:

As part of the Maryland Blueprint Plan, Montgomery County Public Schools is partnering with Worksource Montgomery to bring our students and families the Montgomery County Career Advising Program.  This program is designed to help all Montgomery County Public School students develop life-long career management skills.  All students will be able to vividly describe their own strengths, interests, and workplace values; identify how they are expanding their skills and knowledge; describe the various opportunities ahead of them; and describe their goals for their future. - from the MoCo CAP website.  Click the image to download the program information and reach out to our Career Coach, Ms. Estelle Ouedrago.

College Career e-NEWS Bulletin:

The College Career e-NEWS Bulletin contains college career events, the virtual high school visit schedule, Jag JOBS updates, college application resources and information, financial aid and scholarship opportunities.  e-NEWS is delivered to the email in box of our students and parents via Naviance.  | end of week publication for 28 FEBRUARY 2025 |

This just in...

NEW!  The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) 2025 College Fair is announced!  MCPS college fair field trip dates are Tuesday, April 8 and Wednesday, April 9.  There will be evening hours on Tuesday, April 8 from 6:30 pm until 8 pm. 

Class of 2026 only!  The Northwest High School Field Trip date is Tuesday, April 8.  Students must complete and return the Field Trip Permission Form and complete the NACAC College Fair Registration. Students will depart from the cafeteria at 9:45 am and return to school around 12 pm.  The Permission Form must be signed by parent or guardian and returned to the College Career Information Center  (Room 126) no later than student lunch on March 28.  Field trip forms will only be accepted before school or at lunch.  Forms will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until all reserved bus seats are filled.  Students without access to a printer are invited to stop by their counselor's office or visit the College Career Information Center for a hard copy of the field trip permission form.

Job Corps Resources:

  • RESOURCE:  Job Corps...  Learn what the Job Corps can do for you.  The training program is free, including housing if needed, and open to young people ages 16–24 who meet low-income and other eligibility requirements. Students go at their own pace in studying and training, learn employability skills, and earn credentials to start a meaningful career. Center staff are their support network every step of the way.

Montgomery College ARTSYS Transfer Resource:  Students planning to transfer to a 4-year postsecondary institution after MC are encouraged to use ARTSYS as part of their college planning.  ARTSYS is the State of Maryland Articulation Information web site.  ARTSYS shows which MC courses are recommended for transferring to specific Maryland college and universities.
