Athletics Online Registration

  • Wow, our winter on-line registration through the myMCPS Parent Portal was a huge success!! Thank you to all our athletic directors, technology staff, coaches and parents who helped make the transition to on-line athletic registration a seamless success! Details will follow in the upcoming months on when the portal will re-open for Spring athletic registration. 

Upcoming Events 

  • Football state semifinals take place this Friday, November 24, 2017. Our Damascus Hornets compete at home at 7 pm and our Quince Orchard Cougars travel to North Point High School in Waldorf, MD with a 7 pm kickoff. Best of luck to our student athletes. For more details visit
  • Wrestling weight certification make-ups will take place this Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Students are encouraged to review the weight certification reminders and hydration tips.  Please make sure you have your signed parent permission form. 
  • Winter sports are underway!! The first official play date for the winter season is Tuesday, December 5. Please check county sports zone for specific dates and times. 

Sports Spotlight 

  • Congratulations to the B-CC Boys Soccer team for winning the State Boys Soccer Class 4A Championship!! Way to go Barons!!
  • Congratulations to the Northwest High School Girls Volleyball team for clenching the State Girls Volleyball 4A Championship!! Awesome job Jaguars!!
  • Way to go Damascus Cheerleaders for placing 3rd overall in the 1A/2A division, in MCPS's first ever showing at the state cheer competition. Way to set the tone Hornets!!
  • 2017-18 High School Athletic Schedules are available on the County Sports Zone website!!!
  • Middle School Athletic Schedules for 2017-18 are available under the Events tab of the MCPS Athletics website.

Sports Insight

Check out "Sports Insight" on MCPSTV, a web and TV series about the MCPS high school and middle school athletics program. The monthly program provides a behind the scenes look at MCPS athletics, while highlighting student-athletes, teachers, coaches and support staff, covering a variety of topics like sportsmanship and community involvement.
