Letters of Support and Commitment

If your organization is submitting a proposal to a funding source and would like a letter of support or commitment from Montgomery County Public Schools:

Letter of Support

A letter of support indicates that an organization or individual is in favor of the proposal and will provide good will and publicity for the project.

  • If seeking a letter of support, send a draft that contains:
  • A description of the need for your proposed project and how it will benefit students, schools, and the community.

Letter of Commitment

A letter of commitment indicates that an organization or individual will be involved in the proposed project and will provide resources in the form of time, talent, or treasure. Commitments often include financial support, staff resources, space, or in-kind contributions of equipment.

Indicate to whom the letter should be addressed if it is not to be sent to your organization's director.

If seeking a letter of commitment, send a draft containing:

  • A summary of the services your organization will provide
  • A statement of your organization's commitment to achieving its goals
  • A description of the roles and responsibilities of each of its partners
