Important Notice for all New MCPS Educators hired after July 1, 2011: We are currently reviewing all of your records. Once we have completed our review, you will be sent an email with attached certification information specific to you. Please review the forthcoming email and all attached information carefully and contact our office with any questions you may have about your certification status.
Important Renewal Reminder for July 1, 2012, Certificate Holders: In order to renew your certificate, all official documentation to meet your outstanding renewal requirements MUST BE RECEIVED by the Certification Unit no later than July 1, 2012. All official documents verifying completion of certificate renewal requirements must be submitted to the Certification Unit by the expiration of the professional certificate so that continuous employment is not jeopardized. If you are not in the process of completing your certificate renewal requirements or you anticipate a problem with the submission deadline, then you should contact the MCPS certification unit immediately to discuss your renewal status. As stated in the Regular Contract (COMAR 13A.07.02.01B): This contract shall automatically terminate if the employee ceases to hold a professional certificate.
